Kim Kardashian arrived at fashion’s biggest night on April 4 in New York City, sporting an Allen Jones x Whitaker Malem breastplate with cone bra-like details. The reality star made her Met Gala debut in 2013 and has since delivered some of the best looks throughout the years. At the 2026 Met Gala, her sisters, Kylie and Kendall Jenner, and mother Kris Jenner, were also present.
Kim Kardashian has a cone bra moment at Met Gala in Allen Jones x Whitaker Malem breastplate
Kim Kardashian embodied the ‘Fashion Is Art’ theme, sporting a fiberglass breastplate by Allen Jones attached to a leather skirt crafted by Whitaker Malem. The tangerine breastplate featured a high turtleneck and a moulded, hyper-realistic sculpture of the human torso, complete with cone-bra details. According to Vogue, Jones repurposed a cast from 1967 or 1968.
Initially, it was supposed to be pink and a full-length body cast. However, they later decided to go with the artist’s classic orange. Kardashian decided to shorten the cast to a breastplate for easy movement. Attached to the breastplate was a matching leather skirt by Patrick Whitaker and Keir Malem of Whitaker Malem. The skirt was open at the front, revealing most of her legs and creating the illusion that the metallic bodice was transitioning into a draped, almost liquid-like fabric.
Speaking of Jones’ vision for her look, Kardashian explained, “He was adamant that it be something current and fresh that he had just worked on—not just a piece from his past.” She paired the ensemble with simple, pointed-toe nude pumps, maintaining the focus on the outfit’s complex construction.
The Skims founder wore her hair in long, voluminous blonde waves with a slightly lived-in, textured finish. Her makeup was simple, featuring warm-toned eyeshadow, a brown lip, and a matte complexion. Meanwhile, her sister Kylie Jenner wore a custom Schiaparelli gown with faux nipples on the corset.
