Steven Tyler’s legal troubles aren’t over just yet. The lead singer of Aerosmith faces sexual abuse allegations dating back to the 1970s. The first lawsuit against him on this matter was filed in 2022 when Julia Misley claimed the singer used his star power to exploit her.
While much of that trial was dismissed recently, Steven isn’t completely out of the woods altogether. The statute of limitations in Massachusetts, where the two reportedly lived together. However, they apparently crossed state lines to California. California’s Child Victims Act has a lookback window, which means these allegations are going to court.

She may have lost the first battle, but Julia may yet win the war. That remains to be seen, though her allegations against Steven will now be considered. Julia has accused the Sweet Emotion singer of grooming, sexually assaulting and impregnating her when she was 16. The age of consent in California at that time was 18, as it is today.
Last week, Steven’s lawyers rejoiced about the court dismissing many of the allegations against him. David Long-Daniels told The Los Angeles Times in a statement that the court “dismissed with prejudice 99.9% of the claims.” The only time one stood in Massachusetts was one night over 50 years ago, during their three-year relationship.
Steven is one of numerous celebrities facing allegations of sexual abuse. Actor Timothy Busfield is in court after having more unlawful sexual conduct charges put on him in January.
The lawsuit against Steven claims that he and Julia first met in 1973. Documents claim that he performed various acts of criminal sexual conduct upon Plaintiff on the night in question. She was 16, with Steven in his mid-20s at the time of that alleged incident. Steven was Julia’s legal guardian in 1974 when she went on tour with Aerosmith. Steven reportedly pressured her into getting an abortion. The trial will begin in August.
