Expert reveals Kate Middleton had this reaction to Prince Harry’s 2025 interview

New insight from a royal expert has revealed Kate Middleton’s reported reaction to Prince Harry’s 2025 BBC appearance.

Royal expert Christopher Andersen’s latest book details a significant instance. It encompasses an allegation that Prince Harry drove the Princess to her limits.

“The damage was done: seeds of doubt concerning the King’s chances for a full recovery had been sown,” it read. The detail appears in an exclusive excerpt published by Us Weekly from Andersen’s Kate! The Courage, Grace, and Power of the Woman Who Will Be Queen, which releases today, May 5.

According to the excerpt, the Princess of Wales was “more disappointed than angry” with his remark. “I don’t know how much longer my father has,” he had said. The broadcast witnessed him speaking openly about his estrangement from the royal family.

“But William, who had already slammed the door shut on his brother over what Harry wrote in Spare, was, in the words of a courtier, ‘apoplectic’ with rage,” it reads. The statement continued, “Now it was time to nail the door shut once and for all, and for the first time Kate, who had worked harder than anyone to mend the rift between the brothers, willingly handed her husband a hammer.”

Princess Kate promised Prince William had concluded his association with Prince Harry following the interview. A Sandringham staffer cited in Andersen’s excerpt described Princess Catherine as the sweetest and most loving person one could meet. Yet even she has limits.

In an interview with Us Weekly, Christopher Andersen said that her bond with her father-in-law was strengthened by their shared cancer battles. It has made her far more sensitive to King Charles’s feelings. She understands better than anyone how demoralizing it is when someone publicly suggests you may be nearing death.
