When it comes to theme-based striking outfits, Kim Kardashian rarely misses. The business mogul is no stranger to the arts and crafts of the Met Gala, having attended the prestigious annual fundraising event multiple times. However, sometimes things can get a bit tricky with conceptual fittings. The businesswoman narrowly escaped a wardrobe malfunction just before heading onto the red carpet of this year’s Met Gala.
Kim Kardashian thought she broke her Met Gala 2026 outfit in behind-the-scenes video
Vogue recently shared the behind-the-scenes moments of Kim Kardashian getting ready for the 2026 Met Gala. It was the 13th time that the SKIMS co-founder made an appearance at the star-studded annual event. The video on YouTube shared by Vogue showcased the businesswoman donning a one-of-a-kind custom-made fiberglass breastplate bodysuit in an eye-catching tangerine bronze tone by British pop-artisan Allen Jones. Designer duo Whitaker Malem also collaborated in creating the look. In the meantime, Nadia Lee Cohen acted as the stylist for this jaw-dropping red carpet look.
As the video went on, at one point, viewers could see Kim Kardashian suddenly stopping while walking around in the fiberglass breastplate bodysuit. Her face showed traces of worry as the business mogul asked her team, “Did I break this?”
While holding the artistic outfit with her arms, Kim Kardashian then explained, “I ran into it so hard.” She looked even more concerned while continuing to say, “If I broke it or chipped it…What about right here?” The team members then went on to check if the piece was alright. However, after a quick check, it was found that the bodysuit was perfectly alright. After nearly escaping a wardrobe malfunction, the business mogul said, “We wouldn’t have had a Met look,” with a sigh of relief. She continued, “I would’ve had to cancel.”
Meanwhile, Kim Kardashian’s Met Gala 2026 bodysuit featured a high-neckline, sculpted abs, and a cone bra. It also displayed a belly button detailing.
