A joyful royal baby announcement is reportedly bringing new tension to the palace. After Princess Eugenie announced she is expecting another child with husband Jack Brooksbank, insiders began speculating about what could happen at the baby’s future christening.

According to reports, a potential appearance by her father, ex-Prince Andrew, may create conflict within the family. Sources now claim Prince William has taken a solid position that could leave King Charles facing a difficult personal decision.

Prince William won’t attend royal event if ex-Prince Andrew shows up, claims source

Prince William has allegedly taken a firm stance regarding ex-Prince Andrew’s involvement in royal family gatherings. Insiders claim the Prince of Wales has made it “clear” he does not want to attend events where Andrew is present. As per Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice, that position reportedly remains unchanged even for major family occasions.

One insider claimed, “If Andrew is there, William won’t be,” suggesting there is little room for compromise. What’s more, sources allege the issue could become especially complicated when it comes to Princess Eugenie’s future baby christening.

The reported tension comes just days after Eugenie revealed she is expecting a third child. On Monday, the princess shared the news on Instagram with a photo of her sons, August and Ernest, holding an ultrasound image.

“Baby Brooksbank due 2026!,” she wrote in the caption, alongside a string of heart emojis. Shortly after, Buckingham Palace shared that King Charles had been informed and was “delighted” by the announcement.

Behind the scenes, however, insiders claim attention quickly shifted from the announcement itself to questions surrounding the future christening guest list. Reports suggest King Charles may eventually have to choose between including his younger brother or prioritizing the comfort of his heir.

According to sources, that possibility has reportedly become a growing concern inside the palace.
