Despite reports that Prince William encouraged King Charles to take action against the former Prince Andrew, he is not abandoning his uncle. Charles stripped his brother of his titles and evicted him from Royal Lodge. This was after Andrew’s alleged ties to sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein were revealed.
Andrew’s troubles began after the late Virginia Giuffre detailed her alleged sexual relationship with the ex-prince in her memoir. She settled her lawsuit against Andrew out of court, and the former Duke of York denied any wrongdoing.
Ex-Prince Andrew is described as a “troubled soul”
Royal biographer Robert Hardman gave his view on William’s relationship with Andrew in a new OK! interview.
He said contends there’s “no coming back” for Andrew after the allegations. Although he believes William thinks of his uncle as “a very troubled soul,” the family is still responsible for watching out for him.
William is known as a “hardliner” when it comes to royal behavior, Robert revealed. Still, “Andrew had been very touched when Prince William was one of the few people to call to offer condolences,” he says.
The biographer describes Prince William as both “thoughtful” and “serious.” He adds that William is “particularly concerned about the whole issue of mental health, and that’s something that’s been a key strand of his work.”
In a Fox News Digital interview, the writer noted, “And I think he understood that his uncle Andrew may have behaved appallingly in many ways over many years. But at the same time, he’s a member of the family.” Andrew has been “completely humiliated, publicly humiliated, degraded, disgraced, handed a punishment that no member of the family has had.” Having his titles removed is tantamount to being “effectively un-royal, de-royaled.”
The disgraced former prince also has faced additional troubles this year. He is now contending with a February arrest for suspicion of misconduct while in public office. The former Duke is accused of relaying confidential information to Jeffrey.
