Update Given on Bone Found Near Nancy Guthrie’s Home

Arizona police are discussing the startling discovery made in the Nancy Guthrie case. Remains were recently found near the 84-year-old’s home. Given that she’s been missing for over three months now, there’s been widespread speculation about what this recent finding signifies.

Since her disappearance, plenty of attention has been given to this matter, with many theories about this alleged kidnapping discussed. Many aren’t hopeful that she’s still out there alive. Tucson police delivered a statement after finding a bone close to Nancy’s place.

The bone discovery was not criminal in nature

The case many can’t seem to stop talking about had some new details surface. In a statement to People, a spokesperson for the Tucson police said what they found was not criminal in nature. They called the probe into the finding a “prehistoric anthropological investigation.” According to them, the University of Arizona Department of Anthropology and the Pima County Office of the Medical Examiner assisted in the discovery.

This news comes months after authorities found blood at the home of the mother of three. That was revealed mere days into the investigation. In addition to that discovery, they also reportedly found some other mixed DNA at the scene. That is still being tested in the hopes of revealing a suspect. The mixed sample reportedly contains genetic material from more than one person. As such, finding a clear suspect is said to be complicated.

The only suspect description the FBI has so far is that of a masked man seen on Nancy’s doorbell camera in the early morning hours when she was reportedly kidnapped. The FBI is said to be using advanced technology on that mixed sample.

A $100,000 reward is up for grabs, with the FBI offering that up months ago. Nancy’s daughter, Savannah, previously offered up a $1 million reward for anyone with useful information on this matter.
