According to the deputy royal editor, Victoria Ward, Kate Middleton let her three kids stay awake to enjoy an Aston Villa game. Ward shared the details of the latest events with the Telegraph. Prince William allegedly said he had “bags under the eyes” due to watching the late match. This is because he and Middleton had to host a Buckingham Palace garden party the following day.
Middleton reportedly told the guests that her husband “makes so much noise” while watching his team on TV. She added, “They all make so much noise, even Louis.” Middleton said that the kids “wanted to go to the match,” but they were allowed to stay up late to enjoy it. William and Middleton are considered to be protective parents.
In March, it was reported that they are insulating their children from Andrew Mountbatten Windsor’s controversies. A source told Star, “Kate is very mindful of how much they hear and see.” However, the kids are reportedly “aware that their great-uncle has been caught up in some serious and unfortunate matters.” Thus, the parents are “trying to protect them from the more sordid details.”
The source continued that “It’s impossible to totally shield them.” This is because “George and Charlotte are at an age where their friends at school are talking about it, so they do need to address it.” The source further explained, “The big emphasis is on how important it is for the kids to handle this with diplomacy … They can’t act like regular kids.”
Moreover, Middleton is allegedly preparing them for the time when their parents take over the throne. The source added that the kids will be stepping into bigger roles when their parents take the throne. So, they are being prepped for that every day.
