Barry Keoghan is ready to put the past behind him. The Irish actor has gotten his share of hate online, which on occasion comes with the territory of being a celebrity. While much of it probably didn’t feel good, Barry is focusing on anything but the internet moving forward.
Much of the hate he’s received online has come since his breakup with singer Sabrina Carpenter. Many fans were buzzing at the rumor that the Oscar-nominated actor cheated on her, with the finger pointed squarely in his direction for the split.
The actor wants to stop talking about his trolls

The world of social media is a cruel one at times as Barry can attest to. In an interview with Variety, he says that he is ready to “close the book” on internet trolling. Moving forward, he says he wants to put his “head up, have a smile and enjoy the moment.” Looking ahead, he would like his acting work to speak for itself as he enters a new chapter in his life.
In March, Barry got very candid about all the hate he’d received on social media. In his interview, he shared the belief that celebrity trolling has gone too far. He also praised his fans and all of those who’ve shown him love and support. Barry adds that he’s learned to develop a thick skin amid the hate he’s gotten from strangers.
The Peaky Blinders star doesn’t have a lot of time these days to read online posts about him. He’s in the middle of filming a four-movie epic about The Beatles. He portrays Ringo Starr in the films directed by Sam Mendes.
When it comes to his roles these days, healing plays a big part in Barry’s decisions. He admits he chooses projects in a very specific manner, which can be both healing and enjoyable to him. All four Beatles movies will come out simultaneously in April 2028.
