Travis and Jason Kelce have announced that “Saturday Night Live” star Colin Jost will be joining them as the next guest on their “New Heights” podcast. The Kelce brothers broke the news in a new announcement video posted to X (formerly Twitter). They revealed that Colin Jost, co-anchor of “SNL’s Weekend Update”, will join them as the next guest on “New Heights,” while introducing him to listeners in the video. The clip quickly picked up traction with fans, who flooded the replies celebrating the crossover between late-night comedy and NFL banter.
“I love him! He is the best I love watching him and Michael on @snl weekend updates are epic!! Waiting for this episode!!” wrote a fan. “The laughter will be epic!! Can’t wait!!” echoed another. “Ooh this is gonna be a good one,” read a tweet.
Jost chimed in with his own response, jokingly thanking the Kelce brothers for the “hype up introduction.” “I gotta savor the best intro I’ve ever gotten in my life,” the comedian said. “Where were you every time I did stand up?” He added, prompting Travis Kelce to burst into laughter.
Jost joined “Saturday Night Live” as a staff writer in 2005 at age 22. He became a writing supervisor from 2009 to 2012, then served as co-head writer from 2012 to 2015 and again from 2017 to 2022. Jost took over as co-anchor of Weekend Update from Seth Meyers on March 1, 2014. On October 23, 2021, he became the longest-serving anchor in the segment’s history.
His work on “SNL50: The Anniversary Special” earned him two Emmy Awards in 2025. He has also received five Writers Guild Awards and two Peabody Awards during his tenure.
