James Van Der Beek’s wife, Kimberly Van Der Beek, shared a heartfelt note on her Instagram account following the demise of her husband, which occurred months ago. The couple tied the knot in 2010 and shared a deeply loving relationship.

The “Varsity Blues” star was reportedly diagnosed with colorectal cancer in 2023, for which he had been undergoing treatment. However, on February 11, 2026, the actor passed away, marking a major loss for the entertainment industry.

Months later, Kimberly shared an emotional letter on social media, opening up about how much she misses him. She began the post by writing that it’s been three months since the world lost James. Kimberly further shared that she is heartbroken and that words cannot fully capture what she feels.

Speaking about the present moment, she wrote that while “the reality is settling in,” the feeling of missing her husband has not faded. She added, “there is a different kind of magic in the air,” explaining that she feels his presence with her and believes she understands him more deeply now.

“My conscious connection to God has deepened. The veils of the universe have thinned. And I trust that this is the path me and my family have always been intended to walk,” she continued.

She also thanked everyone for their support, saying it has helped her family in meaningful and beautiful ways. She ended the post with, “You all went absolutely above and beyond anything I could have ever expected in supporting us and honoring James. I am deeply grateful. There is so much more to share here. And in time—I will.” The post featured several photos of James having fun with his family.
