Nia Sanchez and Danny Booko Admit Marriage ‘Really Sucked’ Recently

In the most recent episode of The Valley, Danny Booko once again went to the dark side. As his wife Nia Sanchez dealt with their newborn daughter, Danny complained that he wasn’t getting enough attention. Who’s the baby here?

While Nia is busy taking care of their “four [children] under four,” Danny doesn’t seem to be helping her a lot. During a moment in time when it’s important to be a team, Danny seems needy rather than helpful.

“A few months ago, we had a conversation that was started by you,” Nia told Danny on their Hold My Crown podcast. “And one of the first things that was said in the conversation was, ‘Our marriage really sucks right now.’”

The Valley stars got vulnerable during their podcast

“[There was] tension,” her husband responded. “There was resentment building. And I had needed to put my foot down and say, ‘Enough is enough.’ It’s easy to get into that mindset of we just have to put our kids first instead of putting ourselves first. For us, [it’s] putting God first and then putting each other first.”

According to Danny, men need to “feel respected,” while women “want to feel loved.”

“If one is not doing that, resentment starts to build,” he continued. “[If] she’s not feeling loved, she’s not going to respect. He’s not feeling respected, he’s not going to want to show love. And this cycle just continues to go [on and on].”

“It’s a negative cycle,” his wife agreed.

“You just [show love or respect] whether or not you feel like they deserve it,” Danny added. “You’ve got to get past that stubbornness or pride or ego … if you want that cycle to break and become a healthy cycle.”

During last season, several co-stars accused Danny of drinking too much and hiding it “from the cameras.”

“There’s definitely times where I’m not happy with the way he is when he drinks, obviously,” Nia explained. “Sometimes he’s hilarious … And sometimes he gets under my skin, and he’s annoying. But I love him. I know who he is and his character as a person overall.”

The Valley airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on Bravo. It streams on Peacock the next day.
