Anna Faris was in a playful mood while promoting the newest film in a renowned movie franchise. The actress who portrays Cindy Campbell in Scary Movie had some fun with a reporter while promoting the sixth installment of the series.
It would be an understatement to say that Anna was not herself during the interview. She and some of her castmates pulled off quite the hoax on a baffled entertainment journalist. Knowing the parody style of those movies, it’s perhaps something many should have seen coming.
The Wayans Brothers told Anna Faris what to say
Even after all these years, the cast of Scary Movie hasn’t lost its sense of humor. Anna sat down with MTV UK’s Chandni to discuss the upcoming film in the franchise. The UK interviewer had no idea that Anna’s answers were being provided by Marlon and Shawn Wayans.
Early into the video, it was clear something was off with Anna, saying, among other things in the interview, “I want Yoda to have Alzheimer’s.”
Anna appeared very awkward in the interview but it went on for several minutes. Throughout it, Chandni just tried her best to move on to the next question despite the very odd responses.
Anna was asked if there’s a horror movie that they haven’t spoofed that they’d do in the upcoming Scary Movie. “If I told you that answer, then I would have to kill you,” said Anna with a straight face.
Eventually, after over five minutes of this back-and-forth, Marlon and Shawn came in to let Chandni know that this was all a prank. She took it all in stride and seemed to appreciate the humor.
That interview seemed to be in keeping with the fun nature of the cast and production team’s promotion of this film. Last month, they put up a mock poster of Michael Jackson in promotion of the film. The new Scary Movie, simply titled that, comes out in theatres on June 5.
