Lip reader reveals what Donald Trump and wife said during White House event
During the annual Congressional Picnic at the White House, Hickling lip-read small talks between Donald Trump and Melania Trump, away from the cameras. She revealed that after the first lady gave a speech, Donald Trump said to her, “Wonderful speech, I loved that.”
The president later delivers his speech, after which he turns to Melania to ask for feedback. Hickling said that at the time, Melania responded to him with a “yes” when he asked her if the speech was good.
Further describing their other off-camera moments, she added, “Donald points at something before descending the steps. Melania responds, ‘Come on, let’s go downstairs.’ As they reach the bottom, he warns Melania, to ‘watch that step’ rounding the corner. They say ‘Hi everybody,’ and Donald does his signature fist pump, ‘Having fun” (via The Mirrror).
Earlier this year, there were rumors about potential marriage problems between the political couple. The eyebrows were raised even recently when Melania skipped the China visit alongside Trump. A source earlier claimed that the duo doesn’t spend much time together and there’s very little interaction between them. It further added, “Then they go back to doing their own thing.” Before this, another source also claimed that they both “have quarters in the White House.”
Moreover, they also revealed that Melania only joins him when appropriate. This news spread during Donald Trump’s first month in his second administration (via PEOPLE). Trump and Melania have been married for over two decades. Their relationship continues to remain under public scrutiny even today.
