Donald Trump Says He Would Have Won California ‘If Jesus Counted the Votes’

In the build-up to the California gubernatorial election, Donald Trump has issued an outlandish remark about the Republican Party’s chances. While speaking to reporters at a recent conference, the 79-year-old politician boldly claimed that he would’ve easily secured victory in the deep-blue state if Jesus had been counting the votes.

Donald Trump makes bizarre comment about California election

On May 20, while on his way to the US Coast Guard Academy to deliver the keynote speech, the POTUS took a pit stop at Joint Base Andrews to talk to journalists. During the conversation, he blatantly described the California elections as rigged.

“You have a rigged vote out there, that’s the problem. The votes are rigged. You have a really rigged vote in California. You have all the mail-in ballots, everything else. Very hard to win because the elections are very dishonest,” Donald Trump told media personnel, as per The Mirror.

Trump then provided a bizarre solution to his problem, noting, “If we had Jesus Christ come down and count the votes, I would have won California, because I do great with Hispanics. But it’s a rigged vote. They sent out 38 million votes. Nobody knows where they’re going. Of course, the Democrats do, I guess. But, disproportionately, Democrats get many more votes.”

The Republican leader also said that he has a list of all the “dishonest states” in the US and that California is right there at its summit. “It’s a rigged system. One of the most, not the worst. I’ll give you a list. Maybe I’ll do my list. But it’s California, one of the most dishonest states,” he exclaimed.

Notably, Donald Trump has opposed mail-in voting for a long time now. He even issued an executive order to restrict the activity, instructing Homeland Security and the Social Security Administration to bring him a list of verified US citizens eligible to vote.
