Explaining the reason, they said that since senior royals are growing older, Prince William and his wife are becoming the monarchy’s most visible stabilising force, especially after the turbulent times of the Royal Family.

Kate Middleton recently visited Italy on an official trip, marking her first solo overseas engagement in four years. And now, experts believe her trip made it clear how “important” she is to the monarchy. The stance comes after the huge number of people who gathered to welcome the princess during her two-day trip to Reggio Emilia.
Moreover, with the monarchy slimming down due to the departure of Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and former Prince Andrew, all eyes are now on Prince William and his wife. “Princess Anne and the other senior working royals are all stretched thin — and none of them are young,” Catherine Mayer, author of the upcoming “Divide and Rule,” told PEOPLE. “William and Catherine carry the whole thing.”
Mayer further believes that after the period of controversies, “they are doing a very good job of making it look like the ship is steady. That is why Kate is so important,” stressing the fact that the Waleses “are the future.” “There is no institution without them.” Even Russell Myers, author of “William & Catherine: The Intimate Inside Story, thinks that Middleton is “undoubtedly a central force in the monarchy’s popularity and ability to achieve its goals and move forward.”
And looking after how her latest trip drew a positive response, former courtier Anderson also agreed that “She is our future Queen” as the mom of three is “warm and approachable.” Moreover, since “on the back of the King’s successful visit to the States,” the couple “are upping their game,” it clearly signals that Middleton “is back in business.”
