Donald Trump Jr.’s Wedding Mistakenly Called a Funeral by The View’s Alyssa Farah Griffin

Alyssa Farah Griffin accidentally turned a wedding discussion into one of the most awkward moments on “The View” this week. The former Trump White House staffer left the studio audience gasping after mistakenly referring to Donald Trump Jr.’s recent wedding as his funeral during a live broadcast.

It was one of those classic live-TV moments that nobody could have scripted, and Griffin knew it the second the words left her mouth.

The View’s Alyssa blamed the Don Jr. wedding mix-up on a case of mom brain

The slip-up happened as the panel discussed President Donald Trump’s decision not to attend Donald Trump Jr.’s wedding celebrations with Bettina Anderson. Joy Behar kicked off the conversation with a joke about the president’s well-known fast-food preferences.

“If they had done the wedding at McDonald’s, maybe he would go,” she quipped. That prompted Griffin to mention she had recently discussed the topic during an appearance on CNN.

“I said he should go,” Griffin began before accidentally saying, “A parent should try to never miss their child’s funeral.” The reaction inside the studio was immediate.

Audience members audibly gasped while co-host Sara Haines covered her mouth in shock. Griffin instantly realized her mistake and threw her hands up. “Or… I’m sorry, oh God, wedding!” she quickly corrected.

Thankfully, she had an explanation ready. The political commentator, who welcomed her first child, Justin Griffin, in February, blamed the verbal mishap on exhaustion.

“Honestly, I’m so tired, I have a 3-month-old!” she told the audience, according to Entertainment Weekly. After recovering from the accidental funeral reference, Griffin returned to her original point. She argued that parents should make every effort to attend their children’s weddings when possible and suggested President Trump likely would not have faced criticism if he had attended the celebration.

Behar, meanwhile, couldn’t resist adding one more joke to the conversation. Referring to Donald Trump Jr.’s previous marriage to Vanessa Trump, she joked, “He can go to the next one.”

President Trump had already explained his absence before the wedding weekend. In a post shared on Truth Social, he congratulated the couple while saying he believed it was important to remain in Washington during a critical period.
