Bill Cosby’s longtime Manhattan townhouse just got another major price cut as the comedian continues battling mounting legal and financial pressure. The former star of The Cosby Show reportedly lowered the listing price by more than $750,000 as insiders claim ongoing lawsuits and massive legal bills are taking a serious toll on his finances.
For a man once estimated to be worth hundreds of millions, the latest move is raising fresh questions about how much money remains behind the scenes.
Bill Cosby’s big bank account might be looking shaky due to his massive legal bills
According to RadarOnline, Cosby’s New York City property is now listed for $5.99 million after previously hitting the market for $6.99 million last year.
The townhouse reportedly struggled to attract buyers, leading to multiple price reductions over recent months. Sources close to the situation claim the comedian is eager to raise cash quickly as financial pressure continues to build. “He’s desperate to raise money,” an insider told the outlet.
The latest strain reportedly comes after a California court ordered Cosby to pay $59 million to Donna Motsinger, a former waitress who accused him of assaulting her in 1972. A jury ruled in Motsinger’s favor earlier this year.
The legal judgment arrives after years of lawsuits and public controversy surrounding the entertainer.
At least 60 women have accused Cosby of sexual assault over the years, allegations he has repeatedly denied. In 2018, he was convicted in Pennsylvania for assaulting Andrea Constand. That conviction was later overturned in 2021 due to a procedural issue, leading to his release from prison after nearly three years behind bars.
While Cosby no longer tours or works in entertainment, legal costs reportedly continue piling up.
RadarOnline further reported that his fortune, once estimated at around $400 million, may have declined significantly in recent years. Financial troubles also surfaced through lawsuits tied to loans, connected to the Manhattan property, though those disputes were eventually settled.
The pressure is reportedly affecting life behind closed doors as well.
Sources claimed the situation has created tension between Cosby and his wife, Camille Cosby, who have been married for more than six decades. Insiders alleged that the ongoing legal battles and financial uncertainty have strained the relationship.
