Tom Hardy was not fired from the hit show Mobland. Sources have confirmed that discussions are still underway to find a way to get Tom back for the next season of the Paramount+ show. Despite the rumors, it looks like fans haven’t seen the last of gangster Harry Da Souza just yet.
Mobland stars Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren as the heads of a British crime family. The show is co-created by Ronan Bennett and Jez Butterworth and produced by David Glasser. Guy Ritchie is an executive producer and has directed several episodes.
The actor was allegedly involved in tension on-set

Variety reported that the show did not fire Tom. Sources close to production said that the door was still open for Season 3. Right now, they are “working through things creatively.”
“I’m sure Guy is probably pushing David Glasser to make it work,” the source shared. “Guy likes working with Tom.”
Rumors about Tom not returning for Season 3 (Season 2 has wrapped but hasn’t launched yet) were supposedly because of a falling out with Jez and David. There was supposedly tension on set, but Tom was not officially fired. The trio is currently trying to work out their creative differences.
Some of the reasons for the fallout include Tom’s supposed tardiness on set and insistence on rewriting parts of the script. But insiders say both sides are at fault. Sources say that late script deliveries upset Tom because he likes to prepare before shooting. Apparently, Jez was also not on set to deal with any script issues as they arose, as his plate is quite full.
When Guy was the director, there was never an issue because he could fix the script on the fly. But other directors lacked that authority and often felt intimidated when Tom asked questions.
As for his tardiness, while it must have been infuriating for Helen and Pierce to wait, neither of them appeared anti-Tom, sources revealed.
In the end, Tom is still very much looking at a potential return. But if the parties fail to reach a long-term compromise, production feels confident the show could continue without him. However, with both Guy and Paramount+ wanting to work things out, it’s most likely we haven’t seen the last of Harry Da Souza.
