Tom Hardy’s MobLand Costar Speaks Out Amid His ‘Firing’ Rumors

Tom Hardy’s future on MobLand sparked fresh debate after “firing” rumors spread online. Now, one of the show’s biggest stars has publicly shown support for the actor. The latest update comes after several reports claimed there was tension behind the scenes of the Paramount+ crime drama.

Helen Mirren supports Tom Hardy amid MobLand rumors

Helen Mirren appeared to shut down talk of a feud by sharing a photo of Hardy on Instagram alongside the message, “Love you now and always, Helen.” The post arrived only hours after fresh reports claimed the Dunkirk star had not actually been fired from MobLand, despite rumors suggesting otherwise. Fans quickly viewed Mirren’s post as a direct response to the growing controversy surrounding the series.

The speculation started after Puck reported that Hardy had allegedly been removed from the show following production on Season 2. Soon after, additional claims made to THR cited that the actor sometimes stayed in his trailer for long periods, reportedly frustrating parts of the cast and crew. However, it was later reported that Hardy was not fired and that discussions about a possible third season were still ongoing.

According to Variety’s sources, Mirren may have occasionally pushed Hardy to speed things up on set, but there was no serious hostility between them. One insider claimed the actress simply told him things like, “Come on, Tom, we’ve been here for ages, let’s get on with it.” Another source reportedly denied suggestions that political disagreements caused problems between the actors, saying Mirren is not someone who handles issues indirectly.

This is not the first time Mirren has defended Hardy publicly. Earlier reports from late 2025 claimed she was upset with his lateness during filming. Shortly afterward, she posted another supportive Instagram message praising Hardy’s “dedication off screen,” his “good heart,” and the “HardyHugs” she received while working with him. In the same post, she also joked about disliking “bad journalism.”
