Summer House’s Ciara Miller Calls Out West Wilson After Beta Blocker Reunion Claims: ‘Just a Medical Note…’

Ciara Miller is pushing back on West Wilson’s explanation for his calm reunion behavior after he revealed he took a beta blocker before filming the Season 10 Summer House reunion.

Viewers spent most of the season questioning what really happened between West and Amanda Batula. By the time the reunion wrapped, cast members were still challenging the pair’s version of events and debating the timeline of their relationship. Part 3 of the reunion put West under the microscope, especially after his unusually composed demeanor became a topic of conversation.

Now, Ciara is sharing her thoughts on the explanation West offered during the reunion.

Ciara took to Threads shortly after the episode aired last night. She made it clear she was not buying the idea that beta blockers explained away West’s lack of emotional response.

“Just a medical note: beta blockers DON’T remove emotion,” the registered nurse wrote.

She then offered her own explanation of what the medication actually does.

“They work by blocking adrenaline from binding to beta receptors in your heart, blood vessels, and muscles (the receptors responsible for the physical symptoms of anxiety like increased heart rate, raised blood pressure, and trembling),” she continued. “The EMOTIONAL EXPERIENCE remains, but the physical stress response can’t fully activate. It’s like putting your ‘fight or flight’ symptoms on DND…. enough with the beta blocker bullsh*t.”

She then followed it up with another Threads post, adding, “[A]lso anxiety and depression aren’t the only thing in the DSM-5, personality disorders exist there as well.”

Many fans applauded Ciara’s response in the comments. Several, including Southern Charm star Venita Aspen, pointed out that using a medical explanation in front of a registered nurse was probably not the best approach.

The discussion began during the reunion when Andy Cohen questioned why West appeared so calm while tensions rose around him.

“No offense, are you on like, a bunch of beta blockers or what? I’m just curious what’s going on,” Andy asked.

West initially said he was trying to stay composed before eventually acknowledging that he had taken medication. “I took a beta blocker,” West admitted.

He also defended his reaction to the situation. “No offense, but I’m not sobbing in this moment. This matters to me,” he said. “But this is my friend.”

While the reunion ended without resolving every lingering issue, viewers have not seen the last of the drama. Bravo has already teased Summer House: The Aftermath, which follows the cast as they continue difficult conversations in the weeks after the reunion.

Summer House is available to stream on Peacock. Summer House: The Aftermath airs Tuesday, June 16, at 8/7c and hits Peacock the next day.
