The president posted and later deleted one of the worst AI videos in February. It was a video depicting Barack and his wife, Michelle Obama, as monkeys. The video promoted many of Trump’s debunked conspiracy theories about the “stolen” 2020 U.S. election.
The White House initially blamed a staffer for sharing the video while dismissing the serious racist implications of the post as just “an internet meme.” After the fact, Trump allegedly apologized to apes, not Obama or black people.
Then, in May, Trump once again took to Truth Social to share a post calling for the arrest of Barack Obama. It accused the former president of treason with no evidence. The post claimed that Obama and others should be put in jail for spying on his administration.
In the same month, President Trump took his earlier post one step further. He showed an AI image of Barack Obama “behind bars.” In the image, the former president was holding a nameplate that said “Barack Hussein Obama.” He was surrounded by former top U.S. officials, Brady Bunch style. He called them “The Shady Bunch.”
Earlier this month, Trump took issue with the newly minted Barack Obama Presidential Center in Chicago. He called the $850 million library and museum the “Barack Hussein Obama Library” and posted an AI photo of the building covered in literal trash.
Trump has been very clear about how he feels about Obama and regularly shares his thoughts. For his part, the former president admits that the constant attacks have caused tension in his home and with wife Michelle.
