Knicks radio host Monica McNutt slams Taylor Swift: ‘Get out of here, girl’
The host of the New York Knicks, Monica McNutt, is facing some backlash from Swifties after she took a jibe at Taylor Swift for attending Game 4 of the NBA Finals. During the hot-mic moment, when members of the broadcast team were trying to figure out whether the pop icon had made it to the courtside, McNutt seemed displeased to see the singer at the game.
As fellow Knicks radio team members, including Tyler Murray, discussed the possible sighting of the singer, someone asked, “Is that Taylor Swift down there?” And once it was confirmed that the singer was indeed in the arena, the conversation shifted, with McNutt questioning Swift’s support for the New York Knicks during their face-off against the San Antonio Spurs. “She’s not a Knicks fan, get out of here, girl,” McNutt said for the pop sensation.
Soon after, Swifties targeted McNutt over the comment, accusing her of an unnecessary dig. “Always unfortunate when women are bitter about other women for no reason,” commented a person on X. Another fan wrote, “What’s funny is she sang the national anthem for them when she was 12. She has always been a Knicks fan.”
A third remarked, “Mean for no reason, and for what.” While a fourth pointed out, “I am not surprised woman like @McNuttMonica doesn’t like Taylor, always jealous and bitter.” Even Barstool Sports’ own Dave Portnoy weighed in on the situation, commenting on X, “Damn. Hate to see @McNuttMonica hating on Taylor Swift. Lots of new faces in the crowd. Don’t see her singling them out. Knicks are falling apart at the seams.”
