During a recent comedy performance at The Wynn in Las Vegas, Chris Tucker got candid about his personal life. According to TMZ, the actor told the crowd, “Well, I’m celibate. I’ve been celibate for 3 years, but I’m really trying to get married. I give it to the love this time.”
The 54-year-old actor apparently anticipated some skepticism. He added, “I’m serious. No one believes me.”
As it turns out, the doubters include members of his own family. Tucker joked that even his niece struggles to accept the claim, telling the audience, “She believes in aliens, but she don’t believe I did that,” per TMZ.
The “Rush Hour” and “Friday” star also turned the topic into comedy gold by sharing some of the reactions he’s received from women. According to attendees quoted by TMZ, Tucker recalled one woman asking, “How much? How much … how much is it?” after learning he was celibate.
His response? “I’m not selling it. I’m celibate! What is wrong with you people?” he joked.
Tucker reportedly kept the laughs coming by admitting that loneliness has occasionally crept in during his celibacy journey. He joked about trying to flirt with Siri and Alexa, a bit that reportedly earned some of the biggest laughs of the evening.
The timing is also interesting, as Tucker is reportedly working on a deal to return as Detective James Carter in the long-awaited “Rush Hour 4.” If that project moves forward, fans could soon see him back on screen alongside Jackie Chan.
