Natasha Lyonne Sparks Fan Concern After Slurring Words at Film Festival

Natasha Lyonne has fans talking after a recent appearance at the Tribeca Film Festival raised eyebrows online. A video from the event quickly circulated across social media, with viewers expressing concern over the actress’s speech and behavior during a post-screening Q&A.

The “Poker Face” star was on hand to moderate a discussion with filmmakers Dione Roach and Steve Happi following a screening of their documentary “Jail Time Records,” but some attendees and online viewers were left distracted by something other than the film.

Natasha Lyonne’s latest appearance at the Tribeca Film Festival has fans worried after noticeable slurring

During the Q&A, Lyonne spoke with Roach and Happi about their award-winning documentary, which follows a music studio operating inside Cameroon’s overcrowded New Bell Prison.

However, a clip shared by TMZ from the event soon spread on X after viewers noticed that the actress appeared to be slurring her words at several points while asking questions.

In one particularly unusual moment captured on video, Lyonne abruptly turned toward the audience and exclaimed, “Hey, freakazoids. Go Knicks, alright?” before returning to the discussion. Moments later, she praised the documentary, saying, “This movie is gorgeous.”

The exchange quickly became a topic of conversation on social media. One viewer wrote on X that, “Natasha has always been incredibly sharp and unique. It is a shame people try to tear down an artist’s milestone moment with cheap shots.” Meanwhile, another questioned, “Didn’t Natasha Lyonne say a while back that she had relapsed? Maybe we shouldn’t make a spectacle of her addiction?

The concern comes just months after Lyonne made headlines following an incident on a flight where she reportedly appeared “out of it.” The actress later explained that she had taken the sleep medication Lunesta before boarding.

Lyonne has also been candid about her sobriety journey over the years. Earlier this year, she revealed in social media posts that she had experienced a relapse before later telling followers she was “back on her feet.”

Neither Lyonne nor her representatives have publicly addressed the Tribeca footage.
