It was reported that the FBI had foiled a planned terrorist attack on the White House and surrounding areas during Sunday’s UFC event held on President Donald Trump’s 80th birthday on the South Lawn.
The multi-phased, planned attack was discovered by the FBI on June 10, days before the White House witnessed a historic fight, reportedly attended by government dignitaries and VIPs.

Formal reports state that the attacks included explosive-laden drones targeting buildings near the venue, which would force evacuation towards an area where the crowd would be attacked by a “second wave” assault with snipers. The alleged strikes would ultimately target the White House gates.
Impressed with his team’s prompt action, FBI Director Kash Patel said, “While the result represented the best of investigative work, it was also nothing out of the ordinary for this law enforcement team,” adding, “We are built to detect, respond to, and bring to justice those who threaten the lives of American citizens—particularly during large gatherings like the historic UFC [Freedom] 250 fight. That’s exactly what we did here.”
The FBI have reportedly apprehended one suspect from Cincinnati, with five others in custody. The investigators have identified a total of 23 people involved in the plot.
“Interestingly, the president seemed oblivious to the threat and its disruption. I haven’t heard about it,” Trump said. “The attack that I watched were the fighters. … They were as good a fights as I’ve ever seen, the best. That last fight was brutal, and the two last—all of the fights were good. It was all good, it was a great evening, it was very different for the White House.”
