Maria Avila told jurors she feared for her life during the alleged dog attack at Chris Brown’s home
Maria Avila, who worked as a housekeeper for the American singer, swore in front of jurors for her $90 million dog attack case against Breezy. She took the stand, telling the jury that she was unaware of the dogs present at home until an aggressive dog attacked her. Brown or his team did not warn her about the dogs.
She did not see or hear dogs before one attacked her while she was taking out the trash. Avila testified, saying, “First, he attacked this part of my face, and then he grabbed my arm, and he dragged me. He bit a part of my arm, and he dragged me some distance, but I don’t know the distance.”
Avila told the jury, “I thought I was going to die,” when the dog had her in its jaws.
She was left covered in a lot of blood in the driveway after the dog had her in its jaws. She saw Brown after the attack, and he left soon after, calling 911.
The American singer, 37, testified earlier, saying he did not call 911 himself, fearing the call would leak. His team made the call. While the former housekeeper says he did not comfort her after the attack, she needed surgery to repair her face.
Maria sued Brown for an alleged 2020 dog mauling attack, saying the attack caused serious physical injuries. Brown denied responsibility, claiming Avila provoked the dog to attack. As the trial proceeds, jurors will weigh the testimony of both parties before reaching a decision.
