The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys Season 3 is officially on a roll! The season started on a dramatic note with the sentencing of family patriarch Steve McBee Sr. due to an FBI crop insurance fraud investigation. Now, the boys are trying to figure things out on their own, but fans want to know: will McBee Sr. come back to the show when he is released from prison? His son, Cole McBee, shares an update!
Steve McBee Sr. return update
Steve Sr. stepped back from the show in Season 2 to deal with his legal issues. He was eventually sentenced to two years in prison. He surrendered on December 1, 2025, which would make his release date somewhere in December 2027. However, he could potentially get out sooner.
His oldest son, Steven McBee Jr., shared with Entertainment Tonight that they are working on a “100-day countdown” to his dad’s release. Cole added that he may get out by the end of the year.
So, will Steve Sr. be making a full-time return to the show when he’s released? Cole spoke with DECIDER and shared that he believes so. He said that he thinks fans will see his dad back in a bigger capacity once his legal issues are all “squared away.”
“We just got to get through everything going on,” Cole admitted. “Obviously, we’re all filming at the same time. But for my dad, with how much is going on, it’s been nice for him to kind of step back and not have to worry about that.”
Cole added, “I would say once all of this is finished up (he’ll come back to the show). It ain’t over once he gets out,” he explained. “We’ve got to finish up everything with the government. Whenever that’s all finished up, I’d say once all the problems are fixed, and we’re back to normal life, he’ll probably be back at it.”
There will definitely be a lot of drama on the show until Steve’s return. For now, the family’s navigating the power vacuum in Steve Sr.’s absence, new relationships (hello, Allie Ecklund!), and new babies.
