Donald Trump Shocks Followers Calling Former President ‘Nice Guy’ During Children’s Book Reading

Donald Trump made an uncommon gesture of praise toward Bill Clinton, the 42nd U.S. President, whom he has frequently criticized over the years. Speaking on Usha Vance’s podcast, he said, “I like Bill Clinton a lot. I still do.”

Donald Trump unexpectedly praised Bill Clinton while appearing on Usha Vance’s Storytime With the Second Lady podcast

On the July 3 episode of the podcast Storytime with the Second Lady, which focused on promoting child literacy. He recalled a childhood favorite, Run, Spot, Run, before opening Presidents Play, a book featuring U.S. leaders in various sports.

The POTUS started reading, but soon paused and talked about his predecessors instead. On a page about John F. Kennedy, he said, “He was a great guy, handsome, and the second most good-looking president,” according to the Independent.

“And then you have President Bill Clinton — he ran on a special jogging track. He had a little track built for him at the White House. That’s nice. I didn’t even know that until recently, but he had a track built at the White House,” Trump said, as quoted by OK! Magazine. Adding,  “I don’t think I’ll ever do that. I don’t see myself doing that. I don’t know. But he actually was a nice guy. I like Bill Clinton a lot. I still do.”

Trump may like Clinton, but the former president showed little affection this Independence Day. In a statement posted to X marking the nation’s 250th birthday. Clinton wrote, “Today, we celebrate this milestone amid another period of deep division, renewed questions about America’s future and role in the world, and serious threats to our own institutions and to our democracy itself.”

In a statement, Clinton said that “the people in charge have unleashed masked agents on American communities to seize people from their homes, workplaces and the street.” He added that they had “started an unconstitutional war on a whim, with no clear objectives or exit strategy, and zero regard for the consequences to the lives of millions of people around the world.”

Before entering politics and defeating Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election, Trump was a major donor to the Clinton Foundation and Hillary Clinton’s Senate campaigns, and he also invited the former first couple to his 2005 Palm Beach wedding to Melania Trump, reports Deadline. Trump and Clinton are among several prominent figures known to have had ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
