Mitch McConnell’s Wife Offers a Bizarre Defense Amid Health Rumors

Elaine Chao has revealed why she did not visit her husband Mitch McConnell during a recent health scare. McConnell was rushed to the hospital a few weeks ago after he was reportedly found unconscious. Chao, who was in China at the time, did not fly back to meet the senator.

Elaine Chao said she did not need to immediately return after his hospitalization

Elaine Chao has commented on her husband, Sen. Mitch McConnell’s, hospitalization a few weeks ago. The first Transportation Secretary of Donald Trump was visiting China at the time. She did not fly back to the US to meet her husband.

Chao’s spokesperson has recently addressed the matter, speaking with Fox News Digital. While McConnell’s medical diagnosis and condition remain under wraps, the spokesperson said that it was not severe enough for Chao to cancel the diplomatic trip.

“The secretary was on a long-planned trip in China to support her family’s philanthropic endeavors,” the spokesperson stated. “During the trip, she met with a number of people, including the U.S. ambassador. The Senator’s health did not warrant an immediate return to the U.S.”

While Chao has since traveled back to the U.S., McConnell remains in hospital care for the third consecutive week. Meanwhile, officials have yet to release any statement addressing the senator’s current condition or give any indication of when he might resume his duties.

As McConnell’s hospitalization continues, speculation about his health continues to grow online. Conservative political activist Laura Loomer recently made an X post, claiming, “High level source close to the White House tells me ‘Mitch McConnell is officially brain dead. He’s not coming back.'” Loomer further alleged that McConnell “is being kept ‘alive’ by life support machines,” and “is in organ failure.”

Mitch McConnell, the longest-serving Senate Republican leader in history, is expected to retire after his term ends this year.
