Big Brother Season 28 is coming! Ahead of its July 9 premiere, CBS announced the identities of 14 of the houseguests.
For the first time ever, CBS broke its own protocol by revealing the identities of players ahead of the premier. Among the new housemates are a rocket scientist/MMA fighter, a pickleball coach and even a Jumbotron engineer. There is also a “corporate game show host,” which raises suspicion that she could be coming for Julie Chen Moonves’ job.
Furthermore, two Survivor stars will be joining the cast, bringing the total number of houseguest to 17, when you factor in Angela Murray’s surprise comeback. For now, at least…
Rick Devens and one other Survivor star has joined the BB28 cast
On July 7, Entertainment Weekly reported that Survivor alum Rick Devens will be in the house. The name of the other Survivor star has not yet been made public.
Even though the names of 17 of the houseguests were disclosed, producers still have some surprises up their sleeves. CBS teased that “additional surprise houseguests will be revealed on air.” That would imply that there is more than one surprise guest coming.
In the past, Big Brother producers have stirred things up by springing previous celebrity contestants on unsuspecting players. Familiar faces such as Survivor’s Cirie Fields (who also took home the money on The Traitors US Season 1) and past BB winner Rachel Reilly have surprised viewers as well by popping in unannounced.
A network press release seemed to caution houseguests to not get too comfy. Apparently, the Season 28 cast will be “stepping into a summer where nothing is as it seems, where every twist rewrites the rules and where time becomes the ultimate twist.”
Big Brother 28 premieres on July 9 at 8 PM ET/PT on CBS. It streams on Paramount+ the following day.
