Summer House

Hello Good Vibe Tribe! And welcome to Season 5 of Summer House! I’m particularly thrilled to be writing this recap because this is the full first season in the Hamptons we’ll be covering for Reality Tea! I’m an OG Summer House fan. I’ve watched every week from the very beginning. I even did a special recap of the Season 4 reunion last year. And I’ve consistently told friends, Twitter followers and anyone who would listen that it’s the most underrated show on Bravo. It doesn’t get nearly the love it deserves. And it’s managed to get better season after season while other, more popular shows (cough, Pump Rules, cough) have floundered and circled the drain.

I relate to these Housemates a thousand times more than the SURvers causing havoc in L.A. Maybe it’s because I’m a millennial journalist who lives in New York City, but these are my people. In fact, I’ve even had numerous run-ins over the years with former Summer House cast members just going about my day-to-day life in the city. I used to see Everett Weston on the train all the time around Union Square. One time, I bumped right into Lauren Wirkus as I was leaving the Nike store in Soho with a new pair of gym shoes. (She was lovely, so tall, and on her way home from a Fashion Week party. She was also more than willing to dish about how she wouldn’t be on the show for Season 3. The selfie we took was cute, even if she had to stoop down to my height for it.)

Big Brother

It’s no secret that the Black Lives Matter movement has altered the world of reality television. Whether they’ve stated it’s in response to the movement or not, Bravo has been casting shows including more women of color lately. Eboni K. Williams and Leva Bonaparte come to mind. While Leva says she doesn’t believe in race, Eboni reports that the RHONY crew will be discussing race point blank. Even some diversity of thought!

Bravo has also had to face several accusations of casting racist reality stars over the years. I can’t think of a single Housewives franchise that hasn’t been under fire for racism at some point. And they’re not alone. CBS has come under fire too. Remember Big Brother’s season 21 winner, Jackson Michie? For those who missed it, he was announced as the winner and then immediately grilled on all his racist decision making during the season. On Live TV. What a treat.

Check Out Photos From Temptation Island Season 2 Premiere- James Kennedy, Braunwyn Windham-Burke, Bella Twins, & More Reality TV Stars!

The first season of the Temptation Island reboot was a hit. So, of course, the show is coming back for round 2! Plenty of reality TV stars got together to celebrate at the Temptation Island Season 2 premiere.

White Kanye himself, Vanderpump Rules star James Kennedy DJ’ed the party. His girlfriend Raquel Leviss was also on hand to support. Imagine if those two were actually a part of the Temptation Island cast. That would be some must-see TV. The Bella Twins, Nikki and Brie Bella also hopped in the DJ booth at the event. Season 1 couple Shari Ligons and Javen Butler showed up to support Season 2. They are the only couple from the first season that is actually still together. They got engaged during the finale. Season 1’s Kaci Campbell was also there among the Real Housewives, members of Bachelor nation, and other reality TV stars. It is probably such a relief for Kaci to not be a part of the drama this time around. She really went through it last season.

Big Brother 21 Finale Recap: Controversy Clouds The Night

Perhaps it’s fitting that this season of Big Brother ended the way it started: With controversy. Even Nicole (America’s Favorite Player y’all!) had asked for things to come full-circle during tonight’s Finale Episode at one point, and boy did they ever. But a terribly mismanaged Finale ended up sucking all the wind out of what is normally a celebratory and fun finish to everybody’s favorite Summertime guilty pleasure.

Big Brother 21 Week 12 Recap: The Final Three Are Set…Who Will Win Big Brother 21?

It’s no cliché to say that people go crazy and make irrational decisions inside the Big Brother House…it’s a fact. From the comfort of our couches at home, it’s easy to pass judgment on the decisions that the house guests make or don’t make over the course of the Summer, as they have no contact whatsoever with the outside world. When you’re living in the Big Brother House, up can sometimes appear to be down, and right can disguise itself as left. That’s exactly what happened this past week on Big Brother, as we near towards the Season 21 Finale next Wednesday night, now less than one week away.

I’ll try to avoid spoilers above the warning label, but as I do at the beginning of every one of my Survivor recaps, please heed the following: Remember that this recap assumes that you are caught up on all of the aired episodes of Big Brother 21. Big Brother 21 Week 11 Recap: The Long And Winding Road To Eviction

What a week in the Big Brother house! If you were just to look at Point A to Point B – from the beginning of this week to the end – you’ll find the outcome to be quite predictable. But man, that long and winding road that spans between this week’s start and finish proves that nothing comes easy on Big Brother, especially with only a few short week remaining in the game.

I’ll try to avoid spoilers above the warning label, but as I do at the beginning of every one of my Survivor recaps, please heed the following: Remember that this recap assumes that you are caught up on all of the aired episodes of Big Brother 21. Big Brother 21 Week 10 Recap: A Double-Eviction For The Ages

I’ve thought long and hard about this, but I firmly stand by it: There is simply nothing in Reality TV that is more breath-taking, more nerve-racking, than Double-Eviction night of Big Brother. It’s somewhat become “must see TV” for fans of the show, who might opt to DVR a normal episode of Big Brother under normal circumstances.

But as I do every Double-Eviction, I kept myself off of Twitter and social media even though I desperately wanted to know the outcome, as I watched it on like a 20-minute delay (it’s a MUST to be able to fast-forward through those commercials on such an important evening). Watching the show live and not knowing the outcome is an absolute thrill, and not at all common in today’s “binge” culture. But seriously is there anything cooler than Double-Eviction? And this one especially my friends, did not disappoint.
