Who doesn’t love a good reality TV binge? My recents have been Love is Blind: After the Altar on Netflix, restarting Married to Medicineon the ever-faithful Bravo, and F Boy Island on HBO. After racing through the three released episodes of F Boy Island on HBO, I stumbled upon the animated series The Prince.
The Prince, on HBO Max, is a fictional and grandiose depiction of what it could be like inside the royal family in the modern era. The show was created by Instagram memester Gary Janetti who has taken on a Prince George-like persona through his account. His popularity on Insta has apparently translated into creating his own show following Prince George, Meghan Markle, Queen Elizabeth, and the rest of the royal family. My favorite part? A hefty cameo from the cast of Real Housewives of Beverly Hillsacross a few of the early episodes.
It was mere days ago that the season 23 cast for Big Brother was announced. Clear your calendars for Wednesday July 7th, if you haven’t already! The countdown to Day 1 is on.
Since the announcement fans have gone wild, clamoring for any info available on the game play and player dynamics. This season will feature 16 houseguests with a range of backgrounds and expertise. We’ve got a farmer, a phlebotomist, and a teacher in the house. It’s sounding like players will also compete as teams. Are your brackets ready?
Hello Good Vibe Tribe! And welcome to Season 5 of Summer House! I’m particularly thrilled to be writing this recap because this is the full first season in the Hamptons we’ll be covering for Reality Tea! I’m an OG Summer House fan. I’ve watched every week from the very beginning. I even did a special recap of the Season 4 reunion last year. And I’ve consistently told friends, Twitter followers and anyone who would listen that it’s the most underrated show on Bravo. It doesn’t get nearly the love it deserves. And it’s managed to get better season after season while other, more popular shows (cough, Pump Rules, cough) have floundered and circled the drain.
I relate to these Housemates a thousand times more than the SURvers causing havoc in L.A. Maybe it’s because I’m a millennial journalist who lives in New York City, but these are my people. In fact, I’ve even had numerous run-ins over the years with former Summer House cast members just going about my day-to-day life in the city. I used to see Everett Weston on the train all the time around Union Square. One time, I bumped right into Lauren Wirkus as I was leaving the Nike store in Soho with a new pair of gym shoes. (She was lovely, so tall, and on her way home from a Fashion Week party. She was also more than willing to dish about how she wouldn’t be on the show for Season 3. The selfie we took was cute, even if she had to stoop down to my height for it.)
Bravo has also had to face several accusations of casting racist reality stars over the years. I can’t think of a single Housewives franchise that hasn’t been under fire for racism at some point. And they’re not alone. CBS has come under fire too. Remember Big Brother’sseason 21 winner, Jackson Michie? For those who missed it, he was announced as the winner and then immediately grilled on all his racist decision making during the season. On Live TV. What a treat.
We are excited to announce a collaboration with S’More, which recently started a weekly show called S’More Live Happy Hour, which includes interviews with celebs and reality stars dishing on dating stories, playing hilarious games, and spilling some tea.
The first season of the Temptation Island reboot was a hit. So, of course, the show is coming back for round 2! Plenty of reality TV stars got together to celebrate at the Temptation Island Season 2 premiere.
White Kanye himself, Vanderpump Rules star James Kennedy DJ’ed the party. His girlfriend Raquel Leviss was also on hand to support. Imagine if those two were actually a part of the Temptation Island cast. That would be some must-see TV. The Bella Twins, Nikki and Brie Bella also hopped in the DJ booth at the event. Season 1 couple Shari Ligons and Javen Butler showed up to support Season 2. They are the only couple from the first season that is actually still together. They got engaged during the finale. Season 1’s Kaci Campbell was also there among the Real Housewives, members of Bachelor nation, and other reality TV stars. It is probably such a relief for Kaci to not be a part of the drama this time around. She really went through it last season.
Perhaps it’s fitting that this season of Big Brother ended the way it started: With controversy. Even Nicole (America’s Favorite Player y’all!) had asked for things to come full-circle during tonight’s Finale Episode at one point, and boy did they ever. But a terribly mismanaged Finale ended up sucking all the wind out of what is normally a celebratory and fun finish to everybody’s favorite Summertime guilty pleasure.
