Kaylor Martin is no longer searching for love, but she continues to keep up with all the drama unfolding in the Villa. Reality Tea recently caught up with the Love Island USA alum to chat about Season 8, her advice for the islanders, and her partnership with Turtle Wax. She also revealed which reality show she hopes to appear on next.
The Love Island USA star would love to tackle The Traitors
It’s been two years since Kaylor and her fellow Season 6 islanders smashed records for Peacock, earning the title of the most-watched reality TV competition show in the streaming service’s history. Love Island USA had always been a hit, but Season 6 became a genuine cultural phenomenon, rivaling the success of the original UK version.
The show transformed the lives of the islanders, but the increased attention wasn’t entirely positive. Recent contestants have spoken out about receiving hateful messages from fans and expressed privacy concerns due to the show’s growing viewership. We asked Kaylor if there was anything she wished she knew before entering the Villa.
“I wish I knew that everyone was gonna be freakin’ watching it,” she joked. “Our season, we didn’t really have expectations on how well it would do. If I was in the Villa right now, I think I would be freaking out.”
However, Kaylor encouraged the current islanders to keep being “authentic” despite the show’s success.
“If I was on this season, I know that I would be hesitant on like making certain decisions or saying certain things because everyone has their eyes on you,” she said. “If the Islanders just remain being authentic and true to who they are, [that is] the goal.”
In addition to chatting about Love Island USA, we also asked Kaylor if she has her eyes on any other reality TV shows.
“A dream of mine, of course, like everyone else, would be [The] Traitors,” she shared. “I’m very social. I think I could play a good social game.”
When Kaylor isn’t entertaining audiences on reality TV, she keeps busy by partnering with brands she cares about. She recently partnered with Turtle Wax on their Car Icks campaign. The Peacock alum told us the campaign was special because it offered her the opportunity to work with her dad.
“[My dad is] a GM at a dealership,” she explained. “So, when Turtle Wax reached out for a campaign, I was freaking out. One, I’ve known Turtle Wax all my life, and my dad is so crazy about having our cars clean. Working with my dad for a campaign, I’ve never gotten to do that with one of my family members. So, that was really special to me.”
Together, Kaylor and Turtle Wax created the “Car Ick Preventer Kit,” to ensure bad car habits don’t affect your romantic life.
