Comedian Margaret Cho posted a TikTok video that made light of Senator Lindsey Graham’s death, in which she appeared to celebrate the news.
Longtime Republican Senator Lindsey Graham reportedly died after a brief illness on July 11.
Margaret Cho addresses Lindsey Graham’s death in a TikTok
According to Blast, Cho addressed Graham’s death in a TikTok posted on Sunday, July 12, looking directly into the camera as she said, “Bye, Lindsey, bye Lindsey Graham.”
She continued, “From the closet to the coffin, real seamless. Real seamless.”
Cho and Graham are from opposite ends of the spectrum as far as LGBTQ+ rights are concerned. Graham had a long record of opposing LGBTQ+ rights. He voted for the Defense of Marriage Act in 1996, opposed legislation repealing the military’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy in 2010, voted against the Employment Non-Discrimination Act in 2013, and publicly opposed the Supreme Court’s 2015 ruling legalizing same-sex marriage nationwide.
Conversely, Cho has been an outspoken supporter and has frequently spoken publicly about political and social issues surrounding the community. According to them, in a May 2026 podcast, she revealed that she had declined a role in the television series Heated Rivalry because she feared being detained by ICE, while also criticizing the Trump administration’s immigration policies.
Cho also addressed the health of the veteran Republican lawmaker Mitch McConnell, who is currently hospitalized after a fall. She said, “So, it’s Mitch McConnell, Lindsey Graham … it does happen in threes,” adding. “Hope!”
Cho attracted supportive comments on Instagram, with users praising the comedian for being open with her opinions. One said, “Damn, I wish more thought and posted like you do,” while another added, “Thank you for always being here for us. I love you with all my heart!”
Cho’s latest TikTok has once again placed her outspoken political views in the spotlight, while reigniting debate over the boundaries of satire and public commentary following the death of a public figure.
