Details have emerged about Travis Kelce‘s nieces and their roles at his wedding to Taylor Swift. Jason Kelce’s daughters stole the show as flower girls, joining both families at the ceremony. Their involvement added a personal, family warmth to a night that was already packed with A-list guests.
Here is what role Travis Kelce’s nieces had at Taylor Swift wedding
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are officially husband and wife after they tied the knot at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on July 3. The event is being called America’s closest equivalent to a royal wedding, prompting a wave of coverage on the ceremony details.
According to a TMZ insider, Jason and Kylie Kelce’s daughters had a special role in the ceremony. As flower girls, they tossed petals while Swift walked down the aisle. Jason later backed up the report himself in an interview with the Reno Gazette-Journal, noting that each of his four children took part.
“It was a special event for our entire family, and obviously, my daughters are incredible,” the NFL alum revealed. “They’re beautiful; they’re incredible personalities. And Travis and Taylor love them. So, very happy we were able to be a part of it. And more importantly, very happy for those two. It was an amazing day,” Jason added.
Additionally, Taylor Swift’s representative recently provided a statement to PEOPLE offering insight into what happened inside the iconic venue. There was early speculation that several of the “Lover” hitmaker’s close celebrity friends, including Gigi Hadid and Selena Gomez, might stand as bridesmaids. In the end, the couple chose a more intimate setup.
“Taylor & Travis did not have bridesmaids or groomsmen. Instead, her brother Austin Swift served as Taylor’s Man of Honor and Jason Kelce was Travis’ Best Man,” they revealed.
The couple’s longtime friend, Adam Sandler, officiated the wedding. The statement referred to him simply as their “friend.” For those unaware, Travis Kelce had a cameo in Sandler’s film Happy Gilmore 2. TMZ further noted that Sandler sang a custom song that was “humorous yet touching and was all about their love.”
