Jenna Ortega’s rumored romance is making headlines again. This time, it isn’t because of a red carpet appearance or a social media post. The Wednesday star has reportedly continued seeing Danish musician Elias Rønnenfelt despite renewed criticism from fans over his past controversies.
The pair were first linked in late 2025, and while neither has publicly addressed the relationship, speculation has continued to grow. According to a new report, Ortega isn’t letting public opinion influence her personal life.

RadarOnline reported that Ortega, 23, has been quietly dating Rønnenfelt, 34, the frontman of the Copenhagen-based rock band Iceage. The relationship has reportedly remained strong despite the couple’s demanding schedules and the distance between them.
An insider told the outlet, “As busy as she and Elias both are, they have somehow managed to keep the momentum going in their mostly long-distance romance, and the fact that Jenna is in Europe a lot for work means she’s not having to cross the Atlantic every time she wants to see that guy.”
The relationship has also sparked criticism online because of Iceage’s past. According to the publication, the band previously faced accusations of using neo-Nazi and fascist imagery. Rønnenfelt addressed those claims in 2021, saying, “We are most definitely not right wing, and we don’t have any sympathy or leanings to that side.”
Despite the backlash, the insider claimed Ortega wasn’t interested in choosing partners based on public approval. “He’s an edgy character, sure. But that’s part of the draw for Jenna, who is so defiant and nonconformist in her personal life,” the source said. “She’s never going to date somebody just because her entourage thinks it’s a good idea or because they might look cool on a red carpet together.”
The source also claimed the actress had no plans to let fan criticism shape her decisions. “By the same token, she’s happy to ignore her fans’ pleas to find a more socially acceptable relationship,” the insider continued. “No matter what, she marches to the beat of her own drummer and she didn’t get this far wringing her hands over her public image or second-guessing her own instincts.”
The source concluded, “She’s going to do things her way and that’s something everybody just has to accept.”
