Nancy Guthrie Investigation Sparks Fresh Speculation After Sheriff’s Visit

There is fresh speculation about Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance from her home in Tucson, Arizona in the early hours of February 1, 2026.

Meanwhile, an X post by JLR Investigations has fueled online speculation about the still-open case. The post pointed to Sheriff Chris Nanos reportedly visiting her home.

Chris Nanos was seen at Nancy Guthrie’s home as the search for the missing woman remains active

“Sheriff’s came to Nancy Guthrie’s home today,” JLR Investigates wrote on X while reposting one by @TracyAddiction. The original post claimed that an independent online investigator called “Sleuth Intuition” was at the property when Sheriff Chris Nanos arrived. It also claimed that police did not ask him to leave. The investigator reportedly heard noises coming from the backyard, which he attributed to “two women, I do believe.”

Neither the Pima County Sheriff’s Department nor the FBI has publicly commented on these claims. Authorities have also not confirmed the purpose of any reported visit to the home. While the post has sparked online speculation, there is no confirmed evidence linking it to any progress in the case.

One user wrote, “Nutty Nano: I guess his conscience is bothering him about how he handled Nancy Guthrie missing or kidnapped.” Another commented, “Good grief those neighborhood Karen’s need to focus on the prize.. WHO TOOK NANCY AND WHERE SHE IS.. NOT WHOSE IN FRONT OF NANCY’S.. WHO TOOK NANCY..”

A third person expressed frustration on the nearly 6-month-running case and took it upon themselves to offer solutions: “Have they ever looked under bed? Done any backyard digging? No one takes a body in a car. % is very low for that. Lots these missing yrs eventually found graves bkyds garages etc. Even perps don’t want to drive wa corpse.”

This outlet previously reported that Nanos has repeatedly defended his department’s handling of the case. He has maintained that the investigation remains ongoing. According to Nanos, investigators are reviewing thousands of pieces of digital evidence. These include surveillance footage, Ring camera recordings, and electronic data. Authorities are also following up on public tips to reconstruct the circumstances surrounding the disappearance. He has also confirmed that they are working jointly with the FBI to narrow down suspects.

As the investigation enters six months, Nanos has maintained the theory of abduction. The investigation is also progressing under an award of $1 million by Guthrie’s family for any news leading to recovery of the victim or resulting in arrests.
