King Charles might have met with Princess Lilibet and Prince Archie for the first time in four years recently, but the British monarch already shares a big commonality with his grandchildren. In a recent social media update, Meghan Markle revealed an interesting tidbit about her kids’ food preferences, which coincidentally align with the dietary habits of their grandfather.
King Charles has one thing in common with Princess Lilibet and Prince Archie
The former “Suits” star, who will make a guest appearance on MasterChef Australia, recently shared a glimpse from her episode in a promotional video. In the two-minute snippet, Markle revealed that her kids regularly eat Brussels sprouts at home. Coincidentally, this is a trait they share with their grandfather, King Charles.
“My kids eat Brussels sprouts!” exclaimed Markle in the video, prompting someone in the crowd to say, “That’s impressive!”
King Charles seems to share Princess Lilibet and Prince Archie’s liking for Brussels sprouts. In fact, the British monarch has publicly shared his penchant for the dish in the past. When asked about his preferred vegetables in a previous interview, he responded, “I rather like Brussels sprouts,” as per Hello Magazine.
Nevertheless, King Charles is not a big fan of squash and courgettes, having reportedly “banned” them from the royal greenhouses at Highgrove. Giving more insight into the 77-year-old’s eating habits, former gardener David Pearce revealed in a Farnham Herald interview, “We were growing mostly things he requested himself – a whole bed of salad and two whole beds of asparagus. He was very keen on that. Things like cauliflower, and he particularly liked his crudité carrots – we would have to grow them to a particular size, of your little finger.”
Meghan Markle also gave a sneak peek into the challenge she has in store for the MasterChef Australia contestants. The two-minute promo revealed that Markle will be prompting the participants to conjure a dish using specific ingredients. This includes lemons, macadamia nuts, Australian honey, and Brussels sprouts for the upcoming episode on Sunday.
