The NBA Finals are over, but Woods’ lucky bag remains a hot topic. Talking about her viral game-day accessory, she said it became a lucky charm for her and Knicks fans everywhere. The New York Knicks won their first NBA championship since 1973 this year. Fans credited the team’s success to many factors, including Woods’ lucky bag.
Woods told Bustle in a July 29 interview that losing her father in 2017 forced her to grow up quickly. Woods said she has always felt like the same person she was as a child and described herself as an “old soul.” She added that the journey was not easy or quick and required a lot of healing.
She said she grew up without a role model she could truly relate to. She explained that while her social media may show one side of her life, the person she is beyond the screen is very different. She then recollected, “The bag was pretty epic, because that was the most organic marketing I could have ever had. I couldn’t even pay for marketing like that; it just happened. I don’t think I’ve really processed how crazy that whole thing is.” Woods created the bag under her own label, Woods by Jordyn.
Woods rose to fame through her childhood friendship with Kylie Jenner and appearances on Keeping Up with the Kardashians. While the fame may look rosy, it always has a flip side. In 2019, she found herself at the center of a highly publicized cheating scandal involving Tristan Thompson, who was dating Khloé Kardashian at the time.
The controversy led to intense media and tabloid scrutiny, making her one of the most talked-about young celebrities. “It was a very serious situation. I do think that matured me a lot. But I really don’t know how I was able to be so poised,” she recollected.
Woods also spoke about her wedding plans with Towns, whom she got engaged to last year after five years of dating. The couple is set to walk down the aisle soon. She said, “I’m trying to figure out what I’m wearing, all of that. I don’t have anything finalized. We are getting married; I can say that, but no details.”
