Just one day after Noah Kahan became the latest celebrity to publicly disassociate himself from Donald Trump and his administration, the White House has hit back at the singer via a social media post. A top-level government official slammed Kahan for speaking out against the POTUS, using one of the musician’s own hits in his remark.
White House alleges Noah Kahan is suffering from ‘Trump derangement syndrome’
Kaelan Dorr serves as the deputy assistant to the president as well as deputy communications director. On July 29, he took to his X (formerly Twitter) to call out Kahan for opposing the president. Dorr threw shade at the singer by stating that he was suffering from TDS (Trump derangement syndrome).
The row started when the Trump administration used Kahan’s track ‘American Cars’ while promoting its ‘Made in America’ campaign on the POTUS and White House Instagram and TikTok accounts. The post also included a similarly themed caption, which read, “For decades, globalists sold out Michigan autoworkers, shipping jobs overseas and gutting Detroit’s factories. Every president before Trump promised to stop it. None did. Now Michigan has a President who fights for workers and puts America FIRST.”
Noah Kahan reacted by criticizing Trump and the White House for leveraging his art for promoting their schemes by leaving a comment under the post. “Would never approve of my music being used in support of you or this administration,” wrote the 29-year-old artist. At the time of writing, Kahan’s comment has garnered more than 56K likes and over 870 comments.
In response, notable White House delegate Kaelan Dorr fired shots at Noah Kahan through social media. Dorr reposted a report that talked about the singer’s comment against Trump. He wrote, “Symptoms of TDS apparently include having a northern attitude,” cleverly referring to Kahan’s 2022 hit ‘Northern Attitude.’
