Spelling and Garth launched the 90210MG, the Beverly Hills, 90210 rewatch podcast together back in October 2020. According to Entertainment Weekly, Tori, 53, explained she’s leaving to pursue other projects and encouraged fans to keep tuning in to Garth’s episodes from now on.
The timing came as a surprise to many listeners, as two full seasons were still left to cover. The pair was still in the middle of recapping season 8 of the beloved teen drama. Additionally, the drama ran from 1990 to 2000 for 10 seasons.
In a separate Instagram Reel shared by the podcast’s official account, fans commented that it was “weird” how they handled Tori’s news of leaving. Some questioned the abrupt timing and Spelling’s choice to announce her exit during a livestream rather than on the show itself.
“Weird way to handle Tori leaving the podcast. They don’t mention it on the actual podcast, but she announces it on a live video with Brian [Austin Green],” one user wrote. Another mentioned, “I mean they were nice about it and encouraged people to keep listening to the podcast, but if everything was completely amicable it seems like she’d announce it on the podcast and they could wish her well and say goodbye. Instead it’s this weird thing.”
However, neither Spelling nor Garth has indicated that any conflict prompted the departure. As of now, Garth hasn’t announced whether another former “90210” castmate will step in to help finish out the podcast’s remaining seasons.
