Olivia Rodrigo Wears See-Through Balenciaga Micro Minidress for Lollapalooza

Olivia Rodrigo embraced an ethereal, vintage-inspired romantic aesthetic in a see-through Balenciaga micro minidress for her surprise performance at Lollapalooza Chicago on July 31. Her makeup artist, Melissa Hernandez, took to her official Instagram page on August 1 to share snaps of the Grammy winner’s look. Fans showered the look with compliments in the comments section.

Olivia Rodrigo’s Balenciaga micro minidress is as see-through as it gets for Lollapalooza

Olivia Rodrigo plunged her hands into Balenciaga’s archives to pull out a semi-sheer piece from the House’s Spring/Summer 2006 season. She styled the top, designed by Nicolas Ghesquière, as a minidress. The sheer mini-length design featured cap sleeves and a deep V-neckline framed by dramatic cascading ruffles. A lace eyelet trim sat along the placket.

The delicate chiffon layer fell into a playful handkerchief hem with detailed floral lace trim. She paired the dress with tiny white shorts, giving it a balletcore feel. Leaning into the schoolgirl-meets-coquette motif, she wore sheer white knee-high socks finished with a thick opaque band at the top.

Further, Rodrigo completed her look with Jimmy Choo Marene Mary Jane heels. The black patent leather platform pumps featured a bold T-strap design and a sturdy block heel that grounded the delicate, semi-sheer garment. While the white socks coordinated with the dress, maintaining the light color palette, the black glossy shoes added an edgy touch to the look.

The “stupid song” singer’s glam was fresh and polished. She wore her dark hair in braids pinned neatly into an updo. A few soft pieces of hair framed her face. Meanwhile, her makeup featured a winged black eyeliner cat-eye, naturally flushed rosy cheeks, and a plush mauve-pink lip. She kept the accessories minimal to maintain the focus on her ensemble. At the festival, she joined The Smashing Pumpkins to perform their song, “Thirty-Three.”

Her makeup artist, Melissa Hernandez, shared all the products she used for her glam in her post’s caption. Fans praised her look in the comments, writing, “sooo pretty,” “Beautiful as always!!,” and “the most gorgeous woman ever.”
