Rachel Beaver pushes back on criticism surrounding her alleged exchange with Lil Wayne
Rachel recently responded to backlash over alleged text messages exchanged with Lil Wayne, in a conversation with TMZ. The reported messages surfaced earlier this week and appeared to show the rapper inviting her to visit him. Critics accused Rachel of chasing money and attention, but she rejected those claims during a recent interview.
Rachel said she was surprised when Lil Wayne allegedly replied after she reached out. She admitted she “had to do a double-take” upon seeing his response. However, she insisted she wanted to clear up suggestions that she was a “gold digger” or “begging for a flight.”
Explaining her perspective, Rachel said accepting a paid trip made perfect sense. “I don’t care if you’re Lil Wayne or Joe on the corner,” she said. “You’re paying for my flight. That’s how I roll, and that’s just how it works.” She also noted that she is a single mother, making free travel an opportunity she would naturally consider.
Rachel also addressed criticism over making the alleged conversations public. She explained that many people in her hometown are Lil Wayne fans. According to Rachel, she simply wanted to show them the exchange rather than embarrass the rapper.
The alleged messages reportedly began after Rachel contacted Lil Wayne through social media. The conversation later appeared to move to text messages, where they allegedly discussed possible travel plans. Rachel also reportedly suggested waiting until after Christmas so she could arrange childcare for her children.
Although those plans never appeared to happen, Rachel claimed she has received attention from other men since the messages surfaced. She joked that several have already offered to fly her out instead. Rachel also said she would still be open if Lil Wayne decided to reach out again.
Neither Rachel nor Lil Wayne has publicly verified the authenticity of the alleged message beyond Rachel’s comments.
