Carmen Electra Told Brooks Nader the Brutal Truth About Baywatch: ‘Be Ready’

Carmen Electra knows exactly what it takes to survive a Baywatch shoot. As the franchise gears up for its upcoming Baywatch reboot, the former star shared the practical advice she gave newcomer Brooks Nader before she steps onto the beach.

Carmen Electra gave Brooks Nader advice about surviving the demanding ‘Baywatch’ reboot shoot

Although Electra hasn’t met Nader in person, she said they connected over their shared Baywatch experience. Speaking to Us Weekly, the actress revealed that her biggest piece of advice was simple: “Just be ready.”

Electra explained that filming the iconic beach drama is far more demanding than it appears on screen. She told Nader to prepare for running through soft sand, diving over waves, and repeatedly entering and exiting the ocean. While keeping her composure for the cameras. One challenge, she said, was resisting the urge to close your eyes after coming out of the saltwater, even when they were burning.

The actress, who played Lani McKenzie in seasons 8 and 9 of the original series, recalled filming the iconic slow-motion beach scenes. She encouraged Nader to train on the beach before production. She added, running on sand is much tougher than most people expect. Electra added that the reboot’s cast is already in great shape. She therefore focused more on preparing Nader for the physical demands of the role than for wearing the show’s signature red swimsuit.

The original Baywatch premiered in 1989 and became a global television phenomenon, running for 11 seasons before ending in 2001. Fox announced the reboot in 2025. Brooks Nader will play Selene alongside Stephen Amell, Noah Beck, and Shay Mitchell. The new series is scheduled to premiere in January 2027.

Electra also expressed interest in returning to the franchise herself. She said she would happily make a cameo if asked. Electra also pitched a surprise reunion with former co-star David Chokachi, who will reprise his role as Cody Madison. Whether or not she appears on screen, she said she is excited to see the next generation carry the Baywatch legacy forward.
