Marcellus Wiley avoids criminal charges after prosecutors say the evidence was insufficient for a conviction

Marcellus Wiley’s domestic violence case has taken a new turn. The former NFL star is no longer facing criminal charges. In the latest hearing, prosecutors in Orange County decided not to pursue the case. According to TMZ, the official documents state that prosecutors declined to file charges because “testimonial evidence received is not corroborated by any physical or other evidence and is therefore insufficient to obtain a conviction.”

Prosecutors stated that the available evidence was insufficient to obtain a conviction against the former NFL star. His estranged wife, Annemarie Wiley, contacted police after alleging that an incident between them turned physical. She alleged that Marcellus poked her in the cheeks and threatened to kill her. However, Marcellus denied the allegations.

The former NFL star was arrested in Florida in connection with the allegations. He described the allegations made by his wife as embarrassing and heartbreaking and said that he never abused her during their marriage.

Following the incident, Annemarie filed for divorce and sought a restraining order. In her divorce filing, she alleged that Marcellus had been violent throughout their marriage. She also asked the court to order her husband to remain 100 yards away from her.

Marcellus Wiley and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Annemarie Wiley had been married for 12 years before their dispute. The estranged couple shares three children: Marcellus Jr., 10, Ariya, 7, and Alivia, 6.

While prosecutors declined to pursue criminal charges, Marcellus and Annemarie’s divorce proceedings remain ongoing. The criminal case has reached a decision, while the couple’s divorce has yet to be resolved.
