With his approval rating consistently following a downward trend as per recent polls, Donald Trump seems to have diverted his attention towards construction projects. Multiple sources have claimed that the POTUS has been devoting a significant amount of his time and energy to overseeing makeover plans for the White House, reportedly to distance himself from the public’s faltering opinion of his administration.

According to a recent report published by Axios, the president has turned to “the hobbies that distract from his terrible polling numbers, about which he is in denial.”
The claim comes after a recent Quinnipiac poll revealed that Donald Trump’s approval rating currently sits at an all-time low of 32%. The survey further added that 68% of participants believe that the 80-year-old politician is not doing satisfactory work in handling issues affecting the majority of the public.
New York Times’ White House correspondent Maggie Haberman shared a similar take during her recent appearance on The Ezra Klein Show. When asked about how much time Trump is spending on renovations, Haberman noted, “If you looked at a chart of his mind share — this I will say about getting into his mind: Seventy percent of it would be on his renovations. It’s a legacy thing.”
Foresight Strategic Advisors founder Christopher Lee provided an insight into Donald Trump’s mindset amid the falling poll numbers, stating, “For a narcissist who lives off adulation, false or otherwise, this is a massive blow to his psyche. His go-to move is to ignore the bad polls and hype polling sources whose notoriously weak methodology rivals a Buzzfeed quiz. However, even those polls are showing a presidency in free fall,” as per OK! Magazine.
Notably, the major construction projects Trump has currently lined up include the revamped White House ballroom, his proposed Triumphal Arch, the Dulles International Airport, along with a new Air Force One and a South Lawn helipad.
