Selena Gomez and her mother, Mandy Teefey, are facing a new legal challenge tied to their mental health company. The lawsuit raises questions about what investors were told before putting money into the business.
New lawsuit accuses Selena Gomez, Mandy Teefey and Wondermind of misleading investors
According to TMZ, two companies have sued Wondermind Global, Gomez, Teefey and former business partner Daniella Pierson. The plaintiffs are seeking unspecified damages, including the return of their investments.
The companies, Wondermind SRS 44 LLC and Bespoke Wondermind LLC, claim they invested more than $1 million in the business. They allege they made those investments after Gomez publicly promoted Wondermind through interviews and television appearances.
The lawsuit claims Gomez and Teefey misrepresented the company’s infrastructure, leadership and resources. According to the plaintiffs, those representations created the impression that Wondermind had what it needed to become a profitable platform.
The investors also claim Gomez appeared heavily involved in the company before they invested. But they allege she did little after receiving their money. The lawsuit also targets Pierson. The companies accuse her of making false claims about her previous business successes and the potential returns investors could receive.
The plaintiffs claim they remained unaware of Wondermind’s alleged financial and management problems for years. They say they only learned about the company’s struggles after The Cut published an investigation in September 2025.
According to the lawsuit, that report described Wondermind as being in serious disarray. The investors claim it also detailed allegations involving Teefey’s alleged substance abuse and management of the company. The suit further alleges that Wondermind struggled with basic financial obligations. Those issues allegedly included delays in payments to vendors and employees.
Teefey previously denied the substance abuse allegations and claims that the company was poorly managed. She accused former employees of spreading false information and said the media had amplified those claims.
The investors say they later confronted Teefey about the allegations. According to the lawsuit, she attempted to shift responsibility toward Pierson, who had already left the company. The plaintiffs are now pursuing securities fraud claims against Gomez, Teefey, Pierson and Wondermind. They are seeking damages, including the return of their investments.
The allegations remain unproven, and the lawsuit does not establish that Gomez, Teefey or the other defendants committed fraud. Their legal response could provide further details about their positions in the case.
