Prince Harry may be moving back to the UK, along with Meghan Markle and their two kids, but the exiled Royal will have to take active action if he hopes to reunite with his brother Prince William, according to a royal expert. The duo seemingly share a “fractured relationship,” and for the Duke of Sussex to get into the good books of the heir apparent, he will have to cozy up to William on the public stage.
Expert suggests Prince Harry has to take a major step before a possible reunion with Prince William amid a reported UK return
Renowned author and royal expert Robert Jobson has noted that Prince Harry’s UK return won’t come with an automatic reconciliation with Prince William. In fact, it’ll only happen if he apologizes to the 44-year-old.
Jobson claims that the Sussexes’ exit from the UK, and their subsequent public appearances about their fallout with the royal family, have driven a wedge between Prince Harry and William. Additionally, Prince Harry will “try to get back into the Royal Family” following his move back to the UK, according to Jobson.
“Long term, Harry will want to be back in the fold,” the author tells The Express. “That’s the only way he can really secure the money and the security that comes with being part of the Royal Family. I’m calling it ‘Regrexit’. He knows his father is ill and that he has limited time, so he knows he has to act now. It won’t be allowed under William, so he has to act now.”
With King Charles seemingly wanting a united family following Prince Harry’s UK return, Jobson says the Duke “must apologise to William” if he wishes to honor his father’s wishes and regain his position in the royal clan.
“Optically, it will be very hard to hide from it. What happens at Christmas? They will have to come together with the rest of the family,” Jobson added. “The reality is that there is a fractured relationship. But William would have to accept the King’s orders to fix it.” He continued, “The future of the monarchy relies on that relationship being rebuilt. But there will need to be an apology first, and it will have to be public.”
