Elsie Hewitt is sharing a common experience with her baby daughter. The model recently opened up about how often strangers mistake her 7-month-old daughter, Scottie, for a boy. In a candid TikTok video, Hewitt said she finds the repeated mix-up more interesting than upsetting.

“I cannot remember the last time that somebody like gendered her correctly,” Hewitt said. She said people often greet Scottie with “Hello, young man” or “Hi, baby boy.”
However, Hewitt stressed that she does not feel offended. Instead, she wondered why people automatically default to calling babies boys.
“I’m not upset. I’m not offended,” she explained. “I just find it very interesting that automatically people default to a baby being a boy.”
The 30-year-old also admitted that she does not intentionally dress Scottie in traditionally feminine clothes. Still, she pointed out that she uses pink bottles.
“I’m not doing really anything to make it look like she’s a girl,” Hewitt said. “I mean, I have like pink bottles.”
Meanwhile, the model has continued to share sweet glimpses of life with her daughter. In July, Elsie Hewitt celebrated Scottie’s first swimming lesson with photos from the pool.
The little girl wore a strawberry-inspired bathing suit as she enjoyed her first time in the water. Hewitt captioned the post, “my lil strawberry’s first time swimming,” saying her heart had “exploded” again.
Earlier that month, Hewitt also marked Scottie’s seventh month with a mother-daughter photo. The pair wore coordinating pink-and-white outfits during a picnic with friends.
Hewitt shares her daughter with Pete Davidson. The former couple welcomed Scottie Rose after first being romantically linked in March 2025 and announcing their pregnancy that July.
However, their relationship later ended. In May, reports said Hewitt and Davidson were navigating their new reality as co-parents following their split.
Despite the changes in her personal life, Hewitt has remained open about motherhood. She previously discussed her decision not to breastfeed, explaining that she wanted to protect her recovery and remain fully present for her daughter.
