Taylor Swift has reportedly donated $50,000 to Ashley Taunton after she suffered serious injuries while saving another person in a car accident. As reported by NBC News, on July 18, the Rhode Island mom of three kids was driving during a torrential rainstorm on I-95 in Hopkinton.
During the drive, she reportedly noticed a car hydroplaning off the road right in front of her. The hero mom then allegedly pulled over to rush to help the people, teenagers inside the vehicle, who had a crash. Per the publication, Ashley Taunton’s husband, Joe Taunton, told this to the NBC affiliate WJAR of Providence.
Furthermore, Joe Taunton told the news outlet that as Ashley Taunton was helping the teenagers inside the car, another vehicle hydroplaned and then barreled toward them. According to the description written on the GoFundMe fundraiser, “In a split-second act of pure bravery, Ashley pushed the other person out of harm’s way, taking the brunt of the impact herself.”
The description further reads, “Because of her selfless courage, Ashley is now facing a very long and difficult road to recovery.”
In the meantime, as further reported by the publication, Ashley Taunton responded to Taylor Swift’s reported massive donation through an Instagram post.
The mother of three wrote in the caption, “Like how (emoji) this is absolutely mind-blowing and so very humbling. @taylorswift you are a beautiful soul I wish I could hug you IRL. Maybe the next time your in Westerly (emoji) I live 20 minutes away.” “Thank you Jesus for so many amazing humans,” Ashley Taunton added.
